Golden Milk Paste to Boost Energy and Immunity

If you’re like us, you’re all about foods that offer incredible flavor as well as intense health benefits. That means that, when it comes to golden milk paste, one of two things is true:

  • You’re obsessed with it
  • You’ve never heard of it
If the second option is true for you, we are so excited to bring golden milk paste to your attention! It tastes amazing, is extremely versatile, and is one of the best healing foods out there. 


We’ll get to what exactly golden milk paste is in a minute, but for now let’s talk about what it does for us.

Inflammation 101

Inflammation is the body’s response to outside threats, whether those are stress, infection, or toxic chemicals. It does serve a purpose—inflammation is meant to do things like fight off infections and heal wounds. It is also responsible for the “fight or flight” response that happens when we experience stressful situations.


The thing is, though, most of us are chronically stressed, and that can lead to chronic inflammation. That chronic inflammation is one of the culprits behind things like arthritis, fatigue, headaches, loss of appetite, and stiffness. It is linked to heart disease and can harm your joints and gut. It’s even linked to a higher risk of cancer.


It’s not just stress situations that contribute to inflammation in our bodies. Even just spending a couple days loading up on sugar and alcohol (maybe…kind of like we were all guilty of doing this past week as we celebrated our independence?) can make our immune system overdo it on the inflammation.


If your inner party monster did come out this last week (And we hope it did!), there’s hope!


We’ve written before about the awesome benefits of golden milk, and turmeric in particular, when it comes to healing inflammation. Here’s a quick rundown of what it has to offer us after an extra-fun holiday:
  • It’s amazing for bringing down inflammation
  • An ingredient in turmeric is better than lots of OTC meds at relieving pain, especially joint pain
  • Golden milk boosts immunity and inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi, and viruses
  • Turmeric detoxifies the liver
  • Turmeric has been shown to help with exercise-induced muscle soreness. Good news if your fam is the type to play lots of touch football or ultimate Frisbee for the 4th!
  • Golden milk regulates the metabolism and promotes healthy cholesterol levels
Basically, golden milk and golden milk paste needs to be our go-to after weeks like the one we just had!


So, you’ve heard of golden milk by now. We’ve raved about it before. But what is golden milk paste?


Basically, it’s the perfect way to consume turmeric. If we eat turmeric by itself, it goes through the digestive process without really getting absorbed, but paired with black pepper and a healthy fat it does get absorbed.


You can think of golden milk paste (or turmeric paste, as it’s also known) as a condensed version of golden milk. You can use it as a quick way to make golden milk throughout the week or use it to flavor stir fries, soups and stews, eggs, veggies, or anything else your heart desires!


If you see yourself using this golden milk paste more in savory foods rather than as a base for golden milk, feel free to leave out the honey.
The recipe below should keep in the fridge for about 2 weeks. But let’s be real, it’ll be long gone by then!



  • 1/4 cup ground turmeric
  • 1.5 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Packet of SUTRA Gold
  • ½ cup of water
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • Additional tablespoon of water
  • 2 Tbsp honey or other sweetener (optional)


Combine ½ cup water, SUTRA Gold, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and salt in a saucepan over low heat and simmer, stirring frequently, until thickened—about 8 minutes. 


Add additional tablespoon of water, and a little more if needed, and continue to stir for about another 8 minutes or until a paste forms.
Add coconut oil and stir until mixture is completely smooth. If you choose to include honey, add it now!


Allow to completely cool (about 20 minutes) and store in an airtight jar.



  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 heaping teaspoon of golden milk paste
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener of choice (optional)


Gently heat up the milk in a saucepan.
Add in the scoop of golden milk paste and optional sweetener and heat up to your preferred temperature.
Enjoy as a before-bed ritual or throughout the day for boosted immunity and natural energy!
